What is family to you? Well, for me it should be the one’s comfort and safest place
everyone should possess but not everyone is lucky to have that comfort naturally. I can
put it as not all humans are born with talents. The statistics say only 1% of humankind is
born with talents and the rest just do hard work. And that hard worker peoples are as
special as talented ones.
Humankind itself is precious because they have consciousness, judgment, and the
ability to resolve. And that is why they work on their weaknesses, their mistakes, and
their relationships with themselves as well as with others. Unfortunately, the way we try
to fix ourselves and our relationships with others we do not try that harder with our
family members. There are thousands of arguments with siblings, a hard share of the
distance between you and your parents, especially, with brown parents.
I know one as I am from brown parents. In my early 20’s specifically after my 21, I
realized how important it is to have them in your life. To be with them or to be there for
them. Before that, I ignored them knowing they will never understand what I feel, what I
wanted to do, or who I am in this mere world. Though it remains the same even now, I
started to think about what makes them have such unfairness towards children. Where
does this come from? Are they brought up like this too? Then that’s a pity, they weren’t
in good condition on their own. They never understood they are being the same to their
child as they were! A culture they hold in them. They didn’t have a warm environment of
their own. There was a lot they have missed in their life too. Maybe their wishes were
demolished too, and their parents also never knew who they were too. If so then this is
a loop one cannot break until one seeks for it, seeks wisdom for it. I wanted to break the
circle, and I found utter misery by doing so.
The more I seek the more I find that the root of one’s upbringing shapes our reasoning
to see the world or deal with the world. So, rather than for them to understand me, I
simply turn the page to understand them better, and after years of work what matters
the most is family. A dysfunctional or not, family is family.
